Terms of service.

Parties

These terms are an agreement between you (the "licensee") and Ogtay Huseynov, a sole proprietor based in Baku, Azerbaijan, trading as MeetPing ("we", "us"). By installing or using the MeetPing macOS application or by buying a MeetPing license, you accept these terms.

If you do not accept them, do not install the app and request a refund within the 14-day window described below.

License grant

We grant you a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the MeetPing macOS application on up to five (5) Macs that you personally own or control. The license covers both personal use and commercial use within your own organisation, for as long as the application remains technically functional on a supported version of macOS.

The license is tied to the email address you used at checkout and the license key delivered after payment. You can move activations between your own Macs from your dashboard.

What you cannot do

• Redistribute, resell, sublicense, or share the application binary, the model files bundled with it, or your license key.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application, except where this right is explicitly granted by mandatory law (for EU users, including the interoperability exception in Directive 2009/24/EC, Article 6).
• Remove or alter copyright, trademark, or attribution notices.
• Rent, lease, or operate the application as a hosted service for third parties.
• Use the application to record, transcribe, or alert on people without their knowledge or consent where local law requires it. You are solely responsible for complying with wiretap, two-party-consent, and workplace recording laws in your jurisdiction.
• Abuse the activation endpoint — e.g. scripted reactivation loops or attempts to bypass the seat limit.

Updates

Lifetime updates are included for the entire v0.x and v1.x series. A future major version (v2 or later) may be a paid upgrade. If we ship a paid upgrade we will announce it at least 90 days in advance and your existing license will continue to receive security fixes for the v1.x series for at least 12 months after the v2 release.

Updates are delivered through the Sparkle framework. You can disable automatic updates inside the app, but we do not back-port security fixes to versions you choose to pin.

Acceptable use

• Do not use MeetPing for unlawful purposes or to violate the rights of others.
• Do not use it in environments where the consequences of a missed alert could endanger life or property — it is a productivity tool, not safety equipment.
• Do not attempt to disrupt the licensing API or the Sparkle update feed.

Warranty disclaimer

MeetPing is provided as is and as available. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — express, implied, or statutory — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Specifically: speech recognition is statistical. The Parakeet TDT v3 model has a measured word-error rate around 6% on conversational English, with name detection further improved by a phonetic matcher described on the blog. We do not guarantee that every mention of your watchword will fire an alert, nor that no false positives will fire. If a perfect transcript is critical to you, MeetPing is not the right tool.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to MeetPing is limited to the amount you actually paid for your license — currently €24.90 / US$24.90.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, even if we have been advised of the possibility. Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law allows.

Termination

Your license terminates automatically if you materially breach these terms. On termination you must uninstall the application and stop using your license key. The 14-day refund window described below still applies — termination for breach does not cancel a refund request you have already made in good time.

Refunds

We offer a 14-day no-questions-asked refund. The full policy lives at /legal/refund. Nothing in these terms reduces statutory consumer-protection rights you have in your country.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. We will attempt to resolve any dispute in good faith by email first; if that fails, disputes go to the competent courts in Baku, Azerbaijan.

TODO: confirm jurisdiction once the founder's operating entity is finalised. EU consumers retain the right to bring proceedings in their country of residence under the consumer-protection rules of their home jurisdiction.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the product or our legal posture changes. Material changes are notified by email to active license holders at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the application after the effective date means you accept the new terms; if you do not, you can request a pro-rated refund (see refund policy).
